The head consists of two opposite ends of a head board and a decorative shelf.  The neck, arms and legs are all parts salvaged from wooden chairs.  The feet are, of course clogs.  The torso is from a car transmission and the hip area is an upturned kettle.  The palms are snack dishes, and I don’t actually know what the fingers are.  I bought dozens of them at a second hand store.  For some reason I think they had something to do with knitting or weaving.

As with all my pieces that involve a lot of wood elements, once the basic design is worked out the piece must be disassembled so that the wood can be stained and sealed.

I seldom have any fun with photography, but for some reason this day was a little different.  I think it is because at this stage the piece still has no stand.  Without  one it is easier to stage it in settings other than a photo studio.
