The voltage meters made great goggles once the guts were removed and the lenses were swapped for some tinted plexiglass.  The internal headband allowed the mask to be flipped up and stowed to allow for alcohol consumption.  An essential element of the Halloween experience after all.  The best part turned out to be the spring mounted jaw (toe protector).  Though it adds weight, it causes the thing to “jabber” along with the movements of the wearer.  Very scary.

The basic elements used were:  The inside reflector dome from a street lamp, the toe from a boot protector, a pair of voltage display meters, a “comb” for asphalt spreading, some vacuum tubes and sockets, rubber trim, and the headband from a welding mask.

The intrepid Nancy insisted on making me a full silver jumpsuit to accompany my new visage (thank you very much!).  I spent an embarrassing amount of time on a belt, buckle, and bandolier of spare vacuum tubes that I regretfully did not get a good photo of.  Add a pair of chemical resistant gloves and voila!
